It's been 6 years now since we sat down one rainy day in the living room and had a discussion about females in the industry and our subsequent futile search online to find out information about said females only to come up empty handed at the time and it was through this lack of information that Femmixx.com was born.
We sat for about two hours putting our plan into motion and coming up with ways to make this venture a worthwhile cause which has benefited the ladies who we have been lucky to come into contact with over the last few years.
Femmixx.com was born out of a love for hip hop and what we could do to give back to the community by putting more females onto the forefront of the industry, instead of having them lurk in the shadows of the big boys - not getting their due recognition.
We've always maintained that it's not a battle of males versus females nor are we biased towards males in the industry, but we wanted to put the spotlight on females the same way the brothers were getting their shine.
One of our biggest supporters Scratch Magazine has gone under and we were glad that they took us under their wings unofficially and watched us grow.
We've never had any corporate funding; we bore the brunt of keeping the Femmixx.com alive with our own resources and to this day we still do.
What you the viewer are witnessing right now is a rebirth and a return to our core value of what Femmixx.com is all about, which is to continue to surface more females in the spotlight and give them the shine that they deserve.
The first ladies who were featured on Femmixx.com have gone on to bigger and better things. We are proud of these ladies and ourselves for finding them and giving them the shine they deserved by letting you guys the viewers know who they were.
We've both been going through our own personal developments and took some time off to focus and have returned with a whole new attitude and outlook as well as a revamping of the site which we hope you guys like.
It was decided to make things a little bit simpler and pleasing to the eyes that everyone can enjoy and we wanna say thanks to the lovely young lady, Vicky Ayala, our webmaster for helping us achieve our goal. |
